الموضوع : أواخر شهر سبتمبر 2015، وفي وقت تستعد فيه البوسنة والهرسك لإحياء الذكرى العشرين لنهاية حرب مدمِّرة اكتوت بنارها البلاد في تسعينيات القرن الماضي، عثرت السلطات المحلية هناك على مقبرة جماعية جديدة في قرية منسية في الريف، ضمَّت رفات سبعة أشخاص، وحقيبة شبه ممزّقة احتوت على بعض البقايا المهترئة، وحمل جيبها السري مفاجأة غير متوقعة

ساعة يدوية معطلة، تشير عقاربها إلى ساعة الصفر 00:00، وأوراق ومذكرات غامضة مكتوبة باللغة العربية، نجت بأعجوبة من التلف، يتولى وحيد سيباهيتش، أستاذ التاريخ ورئيس قسم المخطوطات في جامعة سراييفو مهمة صيانتها ثم قراءتها بتمعن في محاولة لفكّ شفراتها وتحليل رموزها

أيّ دمار ذاك الذي خلّفته اعترافات الراحلة بريجيت نوسي المكتوبة في حياة راوي المذكرات المجهول؟ وما السبب الذي دفعه إلى التخلي عن كلّ شيء في مارسيليا، ثم السفر على وجه السرعة إلى العاصمة المغربية الرباط ومنها إلى قرية عين اللوح في قلب جبال الأطلس المتوسط؟

أيّ قدر ذاك الذي قذف به إلى البوسنة في عزّ الحرب التي مزّقت هذا البلد في تسعينيات القرن الماضي؟ وكيف كانت الأهوال التي واجهها هناك، ثم محاولته إنقاذ الطفلة نور كوستوفيتش من براثن الضياع، سبباّ في خروجه من حالة التيه المعقدة التي عاشها بسبب ماضي والدته؟

رحلة بحث معقدة عن الذات التائهة والزمن المفقود الذي جسدته الساعة اليدوية المعطلة في ساعة الصفر، وأسئلة وجودية متعاقبة عن حقيقة الإنسان ومعنى الحب والحياة في مواجهة الكراهية والموت والصراع المحتدم بين القوميات والأديان مع إسقاطات تاريخية وفلسفية تركت آثارها العميقة في أرواح أبطال العمل بمختلف جنسياتهم وقومياتهم وأديانهم

وبين هذا وذاك، يبذل الدكتور وحيد سيباهيتش قصارى جهده لفكّ لغز هوية الراوي المجهول صاحب المذكرات وهويات الآخرين ممّن دُفنوا معه في المقبرة، وفهم مغزى تعطّل الساعة اليدوية في ساعة الصفر 00:00، ثم كشف حقيقة ما حصل في قرية لوتا البوسنية الوديعة قبل أزيد من عشرين عاماً في النهاية
