عن الكتاب :«كان أبي، وهو رجل شديد التفاني تجاه عاداته، يغادر البيت إلى العمل في الصباح الباكر، ويكدّ في العمل طوال اليوم، وحين يعود إلى البيت (في ذلك الوقت، لم يكن يعمل حتّى وقت متأخّر)، يأخذ قيلولة صغيرة قبل العشاء. وذات مرّة، خلال الأسبوع الأوّل لنا في البيت الجديد، قبل أن نُكمل انتقالنا، ارتكب هفوة لافتة: بدلاً من أن يقود سيّارته إلى البيت الجديد بعد العمل، اتّجه مباشرة إلى بيته القديم، على نحو ما كان يفعل لسنوات، وركن سيّارته على الطريق الخاصّة أمام البيت، ودلف من الباب الخلفي، وصعد الدرج إلى الطابق الأوّل، ودخل غرفة النوم، واضطجع على السرير، ونام. أغفى زهاء ساعة. ولا حاجة إلى القول إنه حين عادت سيّدة البيت الجديدة، ووجدت رجلاً غريباً نائماً في سريرها، فقد بُوغتت بعض الشيء. إلا أنه على العكس، لم يقفز أبي من السرير، ويسارع إلى الفرار. وسرعان ما تبدّد الارتباك، وضحك الاثنان من كل قلبَيْهما من الأمر
الموضوع : كتاب “اختراع العزلة” مذكرات عن والد الكاتب بول أوستر الذى توفى بشكل غير متوقع، كما يرى الروائى الأمريكى، فضلاً عن أن الكتاب هو فى الوقت ذاته تأمل شخصى فى طبيعة الذاكرة والخسارة حيث قال عنه أوستر:” إنه، بشكل أو بآخر، جوهر أعمالى كلها”، فعلى حد قوله “قد لا تكون “اختراع العزلة” رواية غير أنى أظن بأنها تناقش العديد من الأسئلة التى أطرحها عادة فى أعمالى الروائية
هذا الكتاب عند صدوره اعتبرته عائلة أوستر اليهودية، فضيحة حتى أنهم صرحوا فى الجرائد والمجلات بأنه يكذب وأنه اخترع تفاصيل هذا الكتاب من خياله، وهو ما أشار إليه مترجم الكتاب أحمد العلى
وقال “العلى” إن ما همنى فى الكتاب هو الشجاعة، شجاعة الفضح النبيل، فضح العائلة، تلك الحيوات التى لها فى جسدك عرق ما
وينقسم الكتاب لقسمين الأول عن الأب والعائلة بصفة عامة بعنوان “بورتريه لرجل غير مرئى” والثانى بـكتاب الذاكرة : مطولات مقتطفة

About The Book : “My father, a man very devoted to his habits, used to leave the house for work early in the morning, toil all day long, and when he came home (at that time, he was not working until late), he would take a small nap before dinner. Once, during our first week in the new house, before we completed our move, he committed a remarkable mistake: Instead of driving his car to the new home after work, he went straight to his old house, as he had been doing for years, and parked his car on the private road in front of The house, went through the back door, went up the stairs to the first floor, entered the bedroom, lay on the bed, and fell asleep. About The Writer : Paul Benjamin Auster is an American writer and director, born on February 3, 1947. His writing is a mixture of absurdity, existentialism, crime literature and the search for identity and human meanings. His most notable works are the New York Trilogy (1987), Moon Palace (1989), Shell Music (1990), The Book of Illusions (2002) and Brooklyn Fools (2005). His books have been translated into more than forty languages
Subject : The book “The Invention of Solitude” is a memoir about the father of the writer Paul Oster, who died unexpectedly, as the American novelist sees, in addition to the fact that the book is at the same time a personal reflection on the nature of memory and loss. All of them, according to him, “The Invention of Solitude” may not be a novel, but I think it discusses many of the questions that I usually ask in my fictional works.
Upon its publication, this book was considered by the Jewish Auster family to be a scandal. They even stated in newspapers and magazines that he was lying and that he invented the details of this book out of his imagination, which is what the book’s translator Ahmad Al-Ali indicated.
And “Al-Ali” said that what was important to me in the book is courage, The courage of noble shaming, shaming the family, those lives that you have in your body a race
