تبدأ الأحداث عندما يجد بطل الرواية رسالة انتحار فيحاول بشتى الطرق البحث عمّن كتبها علّه يساعده طبقًا لقوانين الإنسانية ربما حاول ردعه عن فكرته، وفي رحلته لمعرفة صاحب الرسالة سيقايل كلّ الشخصيات البائسة والتي ستجعلك تقف مشدوهًا أمام قصة كل واحدٍ على حده
